Southwest Counseling Service is a comprehensive, community mental health and substance abuse treatment center in Sweetwater County with offices located in Rock Springs and Green River, Wyoming. Southwest Counseling Service was originally named Sweetwater County Counseling and was founded in 1962. The name was changed in 1965 and the center has been a part of Sweetwater County since. The agency originally employed five workers and since then has grown to over 140 employees.
Southwest Counseling Service has been a leader in the State of Wyoming for behavioral health.

Southwest Counseling Service is a part of the Wyoming Association of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Centers (WAMHSAC).
The WAMHSAC is made up of the mental health and substance abuse centers throughout the state of Wyoming that serve as the delivery system for state funded public mental health and substance abuse treatment.
