Sweetwater County Community Juvenile Board
Responsibilities
Southwest Counseling Service provides a representative on the Sweetwater County Community Juvenile Services Board. The focus of the board is to:
- Allow decisions regarding juveniles services be made at the local level
- To divert children at risk from the juvenile court system
- To promote the development of juvenile services aimed at early identification of children at risk
- To support law enforcement officials and children at risk by providing for alternatives to detention
- To support the services available to families and youth in need of services
- To support the single point of entry process in the County Attorney’s Office
- To work to prevent delinquency
